Falsgrave Community Resource Centre offers more computer courses

North Yorkshire County Council’s Scarborough Adult Learning Service will be delivering the BCS Level 2 certificate for IT users (European Computer Driving Licence parts 1 and 2) at the Falsgrave Community Resource Centre based on Seamer Road, Scarborough. The evening course commences on Wednesday 20 January 2010 at 6pm until 9pm and will take 20 weeks to complete.

The ECDL qualifications have been designed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding of those who use IT across levels 1, 2 and 3 of the national qualifications framework. Courses of study will lead to an ECDL qualification which will give learners the necessary skills to competently use IT either in the workplace or in their personal lives.

Throughout the course students will learn how to use e-mail and the internet, word processing, spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations, and improving productivity using IT. During the course progress will be assessed through short exams and controlled assignments.

Phil Armitage Scarborough Borough Council’s Manager for Falsgrave Community Resource Centre said:

“This is an internationally recognised qualification which enables people to demonstrate their competence in computer skills. It is designed specifically for those who wish to gain a benchmark qualification in computing to enable them to develop their IT skills and enhance their career prospects.”
